VERSE 1 (Sivion) Yeah, sometimes I rhyme Deep sometimes I rhyme social. This one’s for the meek both worldwide and local. Uh. Give a five I hope you’re in the club. Fill that space with a mysfit woke so hear the love when we Get up in yo mental , hear the Spirit in yo, situation that you’re facin here to open Heaven’s gates in. And It’s not too late to set em straight we ain’t battlin the flesh when we facin all that hate. In a state of perpetual backlash. Speak out and you’re sure to catch a backlash. Cuz we’re in need of a solution with a fast track so we blast back put that loot in a trash bag. But dag nab half that stay keepin my people back like we hazmat, feelin half that, bring us back. To that unity, that community. Sharing all things in common like it used to be. BRIDGE: Racial injustice bondage bigotry prejudice searching for identity (BETTER). Pride and vanity crisis conspiracy agenda decisively clear to me (BETTER). Pain and depression mental health disrespect hurt isolation and regret yeah (BETTER). Privilege stereotypes inequality all a pandemic if you follow me (BETTER). HOOK (Ryann Darling): We'll look back and see. The day we stood. For love, peace, and justice. Yesterday was marked. With pain, but we believe tomorrow will be better better better better better. VERSE 2 (Dre Murray): Yeah I’ll admit, I’ve embraced my discouragement. But fall back on the Holy Word. Yes sir, I am searching for encouragement/ Stifled and detained, man that evil still flourishing. Hunger for love, but pain says I’m in need of some nourishment. The food is the moves that we make, when the tube says we break, all the rules and then queues is to hate. When their views are at stake. It’s not the Truth that they make. Narratives that leave you bruised, but what soothes is the Faith. The evidence of things unseen. But felt in my very being, so it’s more than a dream. Spirit wide awake, to the King I will cling. Good News I will bring. Clean. VERSE 3 (Sojourn): I was speaking with my father the other day. Relayed the story of how he had to fight his way through the military in this country so when I declare it. He was in the first desegregated barracks. Fort Knox - they said there was a riot building burned down. But it was one where black soldiers were to be housed. So how would you react? If the flag you fought to protect never had your back? Didn’t see you as human I’m assuming you would feel a way. So with this in mind, we raise voices aligned today! Marching into tomorrow redeeming our time borrowed instead of fetishizing our death and sorrow! Hook (Ryann Darling): We'll look back and see. The day we stood. For love, peace, and justice. Yesterday was marked. With pain, but we believe tomorrow will be better better better better better better better better. We'll look back and see. The day we stood. For love, peace, and justice. Yesterday was marked. With pain, but we believe tomorrow will be better.

about

Somehow we've made it to the middle of what has been a tumultuous 2020 thus far. A much needed pep talk has arrived in the form of the brand new single from Sivion, Dre Murray and Sojourn reminding us that things will get better.

Over lush and smooth synthy grooves, all three rhyme writers tell personal tales of the struggles they've faced yet they lace the diction with hope and optimism. Singer Ryann Darling provides the perfect pastiche for the verses with luxuriant vibes which turn the prevailing chaos into ultimate clarity.
