about

In Irish religious tradition, there exists the notion of “a thin place.” A physical location that is believed to create a close spiritual intimacy. A place where it feels as though the ceiling between our world and heaven’s floorboards is just a bit thinner than anywhere else. In the book, some of the rabbits decide to flee their warren for the prospect of a safer home. Their travels ultimately lead them to a place called Watership Down. For them, there is a sense that Watership Down was made with their personal destiny in mind. I think we are all looking for such a spot.
